This is a box of 20 loose, folded paper patterns part of the collection entitled "Book of Patterns and Instructions for American Needlework". It is by Simon and Schuster publishing, from the editors of Woman's Day magazine. It was printed in 1963 (first printing in 1961). The patterns all fold up into the cardboard slip case. There is a introductory leaflet that has a table of contents and some history of different needlework types. There are patterns for all sorts of needlework crafts including embroidery, quilting, crewel, rug making quilting, needlepoint, cross stitch, candlewicking, and more. The pattern motifs revolve around Americana and floral patterns. It is a real treasure trove for the crafter, textile artist, or textile historian!
Measurements: Slip case measures 9" x 11 1/2". Patterns unfolded measure 34 x 45"
Condition: Some damage to the slip case - see photo. Patterns are barely used and still have sharp factory creases.
