In the Fall of 2007, Anthropologie could do no wrong. Everything they created, especially their outerwear, was coveted by one and all. Despite my modest budget, I wound up buying two velvet coats that season because they were so great I just couldn't leave them there. Seventeen years later, and I still wear them. Looking at this jacket that I recently thrifted, I am pretty confident it's from around the same time period. The colours; the material and the cut are all quite similiar. And it gave me the same feeling I had in 2007 - an overwhelming "if this fits me I'm keeping it". Sadly this does not fit me. But maybe it'll fit you. It has a real '60s feel, between the oversized buttons; the floral design; the velvet material, and of course the boxy cut with that oh-so-cool neckline. This is a great capsule wardrobe piece because you can wear it with a dress; a skirt; jeans; dress pants or trousers.
