Antique solid brass Swiss cow bell, cast in/around 1878 by Chiantel Fondeur in Saignelégier, Switzerland. These bells were traditionally used to keep track of livestock such as cows, goats, and horses, and were also used on sleighs and carriages.
This piece is made from solid brass with its original iron loop and clapper. It has a resonant tone, a warm aged patina, and fine 19th-century craftsmanship.
