Antique 1904 Alice Luella Fidler ORIGINAL Watercolour Painting, Listed Artist

Antique and incredibly rare early watercolour painting by the listed artist Alice Luella Fidler. Painted in 1904, the artist was 21 years old and one can see that this Gibson Girl style painting epitomizes the beauty standard of her time. Alice was a prolific illustrator with much of her work used for popular postcards and lithographs. The painting is signed. It is done on paper and appears to be in it's original frame. There are some water marks on the matting and the relief on the frame is missing in parts, but the actual painting is in good condition with only a few small, superficial dotted marks on the subject's face as seen in the close up. The frame measures 20 x 19 1/4 inches. The artwork itself is 11.5 x 12 1/4 inches within the frame.
