DESCRIPTION: 1 x Grenfell Labrador Industries tapestry 1930's Canadiana Beautiful landscape with traditional Northern Canadian dog sledding motif Winter white snow, pink ombre sunset, green pine trees Brown trim frames the art Multi-media: dyed cotton, wool, and silk Weavers used a material called brin (local unravelled burlap) to weave the dogs for textural contrast Brin was also used as a backing Dimensions: 15.5"H x 51"W Handmade in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada CONDITION: Comes from a SMOKE-FREE, CAT-FRIENDLY home. There may be a stray Blixa cat hair here and there in your package but I'll do my best to remove as much cat hair as possible! Very good antique condition Please keep in mind that antique items will have more wear than contemporary items The front of the tapestry is in excellent condition and shows some wear (matting, discoloration) but there are no major flaws such as stains or holes The burlap backing is significantly torn around the edges Due to the age of this item, the fibres shed when the item is handled (please see the last photo which depicts both the micro-fibres from the tapestry and the longer threads from the burlap backing)
