...Notch N.H., John P Soule Boston Victorian early travel photo
A nice early Stereoscopic photography card featuring "No 128 The Flume from above - near view of hanging boulder, Franconia Notch, N.H. (USA). The orange fronted card stock is marked "AMERICAN VIEWS" and "John P Soule - Boston, 199 Washington Street"
The Albumen photographic images are sharp with decent contrast, even though there are lots of small pin-prick like dents to both the card and images. The edges and corners of the card stock with wear. The back of the card is blank, in a purple colour with water staining.
The image is not dated, but would date ca 1868-1873.
"John Payson Soule (1828–1904) was a photographer and publisher in Boston, Massachusetts, and maintained a photographic studio on Washington Street in Boston, ca.1861-1882"
Size ca 3.5 x 7" (standard sized)
