An antique Arabian tea caddy or possibly a Jewish Etrog. The piece is marked with Arabic writing, has floral decor and brass accents. Its origin would be from northern Africa, anywhere from Morocco to Egypt and dated to the early 20th century. It may be an etrog (used by Jews to store fruit for Sukkot) as a few items I bought with it were Jewish, meaning that the original owner may have been Mizrahim. The hinge for the lid is no longer connected to the main body; it is 6 1/2" at its tallest, 6 1/4" wide and 5" deep.
