Antique Birks " A " Silver Picture Frame

This is the first of the series of Picture Frames that Birks Produced, they started making the A Series in the 1880's. My Great Grandmother had the Military Pin from her Son Walter's Uniform mounted on the top of the Frame, the picture inside is of Walter " Walt " wearing it. Two son's went into the First World War but only one returned. The name Walt is engraved on the bottom front of this Frame, along with the delocate engraving in the corners. The original glass is still in the Frame and other than the little piece of material that allows the Frame to stand upright, there has been no repairs. The piece of material is still attached but has with age pulled away from the frame and has deteriated, I replaced a piece in order to allow this beautiful piece of work to be placed anywhere and show case this part of our history. I have included a picture frame for sale and the asking price for it, since there are very few remaining of the " A " Series this is a Rare Find. The measurements are 8 X 10.
