Antique Black Leather Kisslock Purse

An amazing treasure! This incredible little purse came from a collection of Victorian to 1920s pieces that I have been slowly repairing. Sadly, it hasn't always been stored properly, and so it's best used for display, these days. The exterior of the purse is leather, which was incredibly brittle when I got her. I have worked hard to re-condition the leather to some degree, but there was already some cracking and wear at the edges of the leather. It will never be supple, but it is a bit shiny again instead of dull, grey and crisp! The metal frame has a fair bit of discolouration. I was able to clear off some rust, and polished up the metal where it wasn't too late. For me, the most exciting part is that glorious clasp. The orbs are clear, like magic crystal balls! (only they aren't crystal) It opens and closes without a fuss. Since it stays open, I think you could display something inside of it, if you felt like it. An old photo, trinket, or some such thing. Or display it on its own, as the beautiful old thing it is. 7.5 x 4.5 inches. Antique, fair condition as described above and seen in the photos. Still gorgeous!
