Antique Book Lorna Doone by R.D. Blackmore - Collins' Clear Type Press, Leather

This classic story, "Lorna Doone, A Romance of Exmoor" by R.D. Blackmore, has been transfixing readers since it was first published in 1869. It is a tale of drama and passion set in Exmoor England and is a favorite among both men and women. This antique book was published by Collins' Clear Type Press c. 1920s-1930s. It is undated but has an inscription dated 1932. It is a lovely dark red / maroon pebbled leather bound edition with a gilt title and decoration on the spine. It still has its original ribbon page marker. There are lovely illustrations by Wilmot Lunt including on the frontispiece, and many photographs. The pages have top edge gilt and clear black type face. It is in very good condition. There is some wear to the edges of the cover and spine and slightly bumped corners.
