Antique Continental Silver or 800 Silver Cigarette Case This cigarette holder was made in Austria-Hungary sometime between 1867-1922 and the silver content was 800. We know this from the first mark stamped on the inside of the case. From the shape of the mark and when you enlarge it, it matches the dog head stamp used by Austria-Hungary between 1867-1922 to denote 800 silver content. The next mark FB is the maker’s mark. The third mark is 800, again denoting the silver content. This case measures approximately 3”x3 1/4” The latch mechanism works well.
