This is a small antique (circa 1810's) creamware earthenware ceramic dish with a purple transferware image. It is a classical scene of a seated woman next to a candle (possibly Roman Goddess Minerva), being approached by a small boy. There is a gold rim around the outer edge, and another gold accent partly up the wall of the bowl. No markings. Well-formed dish with a glossy glaze. There are some inclusions in the finish. No stamps, markings, etc to identify the maker of this dish.
Measurements: 5 3/4" diameter x 1 1/4" tall.
Condition: Incredible condition for it's age. There is some yellowing to the finish near the boy - see photos. No chips, cracks, or crazing.
