Antique Daguerreotype Judge, Lawyer or Lawman

Antique daguerreotype from about 1840 to 1850. This piece of history appears to be an unknown law person. Unfortunately, the image is very faded, making this an ideal project for someone who enjoys photo restoration. The housing of this artifact is in fairly good condition, although the body is in two pieces as shown in the photos. This daguerreotype is about 3.5 inches X 4.75 inches closed and appears to be leather bound with a red velvet like interior, opposite the image. There were four small metal bumpers on one side, one is missing. The leather on one side has pulled away from the case. Please remember this item is over 150 years old. This unique piece of history would make a great gift for anyone interested in photography, history or the legal profession.
