Antique Victorian silver plated bridal wedding basket from the early 1900s Meridian Brittania Company Pattern 1712 Pedestal style stand Beautifully detailed bowl with an embossed and/or engraved floral pattern throughout Swivel handle with scrollwork at the top Measures approximately 10" in diameter Stands just shy of 6" tall without the handle, and just shy of 12" high with the handle Substantial piece weighing in at just under 1 kg Stamped "Made and Guaranteed by Meridian B Company" and "1712" In good original condition with the following things to note: - one foot has been previously repaired with a couple spots of solder to make the bowl sit level - tarnished throughout, with polishing left up to the discretion of the buyer - minor scratches/scuffs throughout but no major damage to disclose - functional and solid Bridal/wedding baskets were traditionally used to hold the flower petals scattered by the flower girl at weddings, then kept on the wedding party's table to display the bridal bouquet. A beautiful piece of history!
