Beautiful cobalt blue jasperware footed cup made by Wedgwood in England circa 1930’s. The cup’s iconic white cameo motifs of greek mythology depict Aesculaplus treating a youth, sometimes called “Sacrifice to Aesculaplus”. Aesculaplus was the god of medicine and healing in Ancient Greek mythology.
The base mark reads "WEDGWOOD" and "MADE IN ENGLAND" which dates the piece as after 1908 and likely the 1930s.
In good antique condition - has a small flea bite and minor wear on rim of cup and small mark on the interior.
Measures approximately 3 1/4" diameter x 2" tall.
