Antique Fine Carved Unmounted Cameo

For your consideration, an absolutely  exquisite fine carved unmounted loose antique cameo, hand carved out of a natural conch shell, in beige to light brownish hues. This sizeable piece features a beautifully rendered young man dressed in Renaissance style clothes with cross detailing, fancy sleeves shirt and puffed pants portrayed in a contemplative scene chasing a bird, a Phoenix, while looking to his left. As a true antique, this cameo is a collectible treasure that resonates with the Victorian and Renaissance eras, ideal for enthusiasts of historical jewelry. This cameo is a rare piece that stands out due to its unusual subject and the delicate craftsmanship that has been preserving its allure for over a century. Based on my research, the cameo is quite old, dated likely pre-1860 from Italy. It has previously been mounted in high carat gold. Pre-owned antique condition, with some wear/aging as seen.
