Antique G silver box for your small treasures

An ornately embossed Victorian style container probably used as soap holder when travelling, but would make a unique jewelry or trinket box. The middle section was likely left without a design to allow for monogramming. Likely 100+ years old. Marked G. Silver for German silver, an alloy of copper, zinc and nickel which is also known as nickel silver. Approx. size: 3.625" x 2.5" x 1.375". The material is quite solid so there are no major dents, the hinge and closure still work well, and the top and sides are in very good vintage condition. However the inside is quite tarnished (which makes sense if it was used with wet soap), and the bottom also shows wear.
