Antique George Morland The Shepherd's Meal Hand Coloured Mezzotint

This is a rare original hand coloured engraving after a painting titled The Shepherd’s Meal by George Morland (British, 1763-1804). This 200 year old Mezzotint is from John Raphael Smith (English, 1751-1812) Engraver to his Highness The Prince Of Wales. The image, published February 1, 1803 , shows a framed print of "The Shepherd's Meal" by George Morland. The print depicts two shepherds and a dog in a rural setting, with one shepherd standing and the other sitting. It is a pastoral scene, likely from the late 18th or early 19th century, which is when George Morland was active Professionally framed in a hand carved Gilt wood frame with glass, in very good condition. The frame size is about 24 x 30 inches. Poster size is about 17 x 23 inches.
