This is a vintage Japanese Moriage dragonware teacup and saucer. Moriage is a technique of "piling-up" enamel to create a three-dimensional effect, similar to cake frosting.
This gorgeous piece of porcelain is hand painted. The edges are decorated with gold, the dragon is blue, grey and white, and the background is black to grey, and the inside is an opalescent gold orange.
Origin: Japanese export porcelain, often from the mid-20th century.
In very good vintage condition. No chips or cracks, but there are some signs of wear(see photos).
