Antique Opal Seed Pearl Locket Necklace 1908 Gold Filled

This locket and chain came together when I acquired it: assumed to be original to each other as they are both of the same approximate age. The chain is a rope chain with original period barrel clasp. It is marked PIONEER REG 08. (1908 registration date) The locket is wonderful and rich gold coloured. It is set with crescent moon and star motif with seed pearls and a white Opal. I have not cleaned or polished this piece…it comes with beautiful antique patina that makes gold look brighter. 17” long (chain) 15/16” diameter (locket) The barrel clasp stays put with a quick gentle tug, so seems in great workable condition with normal gentle wearing. The locket snaps closed well without being annoyingly tight. No missing pearls or evidence of replacement. In very good antique condition.
