Antique Sterling Spoon Conversion Ring

This antique ring is made of sterling silver and was once a piece of cutlery. The ring is made in an overlap style and has nice floral imagery. The interior of the band is stamped STERLING as well as the following symbols: Right-facing lion, anchor, cursive B? G? The summary of my research into these hallmarks is that the unusual right-facing lion suggests the piece was not made in England or surrounding countries, but in a commonwealth colony country.
