The book has been carefully looked
at; each page has been examined
A few marks on cover; no jacket
Cover is sturdy but coming apart inside
book at spine
Gold-coloured embossing on spine
and front cover
Pages are uncut; refer to photo #10
A bit of rough and patchy paper
at bottom of pages 38 and 39 for
approximately 1 inch on each page;
does not impact the pages; just a
bit rough
Light staining the tops of pages 261
through 350; appears to be from
gold-coloured wash used to decorate
the top of the book; staining gets a
little worse about mid-way through
the above-noted pages but lightens
again before all but disappearing
At most, stain is approximately ¼ inch
deep by an inch wide; refer to photo #9
Another very light stain mark can be
found on pages 453 and 454 about
2 ¼ inches from the bottom of the
outside page edge
There are numerous underlinings and
markings within the book compliments
of a previous owner
Underlinings and markings appear to be
from a red pencil crayon and/or a blue
pencil crayon
In the 48-page Introduction alone there
are 55 underlinings or markings
