c1856 - 1890, Tintypes were black and white photographs that were exposed on a thin sheet of warm toned iron instead of paper. Often captured in a booth at a Carnival or World Fair. Very collectible today for the Victorian era dresses, hats, hairstyles, and background props! Sizes vary as they were hand cut, but most are in the 3 1/2” by 2” range.
