How stunning is this piece? This is a large Scottish Dirk pin from the Victorian era in the mid-1800s. It is set in sterling silver with beautiful metalwork designs and multiple stones found in Scotland including banded agate and citrine.
These pieces of jewelry became popular after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert purchased the Balmoral estate in Scotland, setting a trend for Scottish-themed accessories.
Note that the grey stone at the top, under the large citrine piece, is crumbling. It looks like it may have been replaced by the original owner, possibly to include granite from their own farmland. If you plan to wear this piece, you may wish to stabilize that stone or replace it.
