Antique Victorian gold filled metalwork and sterling bar brooch

This is such a wonderfully unique piece. I had to turn to the expertise of an antique group to figure out this mystery. The consensus was that this is a piece of gold filled Victorian metalwork that had been salvaged from another piece of jewelry (sentimental value?) and soldered onto a more recent sterling silver bar brooch. You can see a deep mark on the back of the gold portion where someone checked if it was solid gold or gold filled. Really fascinating little piece of history. 💲Bundle to save!
