A beautiful and authentic piece of architectural salvage, perfect for adding a touch of history and rustic charm to your home.
This is an antique wooden plinth block, also known as a "rosette" or "bullseye" block. These were originally used at the corners of doorframes and window casings in Victorian, Edwardian, and farmhouse-style homes.
This piece is crafted from a solid, heavy block of wood with a molded front. It is covered in its original (or very old) white paint, which has a beautiful, authentically distressed, "chippy" finish with heavy crazing (crackling) and a warm, aged patina. The raw, unfinished wood on the back and sides tells the story of its past life, complete with old nail holes.
This is a fantastic decorative accent for a modern farmhouse, shabby chic, cottagecore, or primitive decor style. It can be used as:
A standalone accent on a bookshelf or mantel
A unique paperweight
A small riser for a candle or bud vase
Wall art (if a hanger is added)
