Antique Christmas postcard from early 1900s of "The Fraser" with a Blue & white Tartan clan plaid. A unique glimpse into the past days of the situation of others, by a single script or two and the calligraphy of the pen. Days of unique postage. There is a mention of Scottish history "The Fraser" saying the founder of this clan is supposed to be of French descent dating from 790. They have always played a prominent place in history. The chief is Lord Lovat and the family seat Beauford Castle. Invertness-shire. The title was attainted in 1746 after the Stuart rising, but was subsequently revived. Their war cry was 'Castle Downie,' and their badge 'Yew."
This 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" antique card is in good shape. On the side it has a stamp of RTS on an artboard with a small artist board with paint brushes with the print of Raphael Tucker & Sons "OILETTE' (Regd) Postcard 9403. Art Publisher TO THEIR MAJESTING THE KING AND THE QUEEN.
There are 3 postal stamps, One fairly clear with two more faint one's address from Workworth, ONT.. Second stamp has 08 date with another 8. I purchased several more, and they date 1908 to 1913.
Note: Postcard will be sent in a special postcard mailer with a protective sleeve.
