Archivio 22 holographic gold & glitter leather sneakers, EU41, NWT

Archivio,22 originated with the family shoe business of Calzaturificio Bettio, a small family shoemaking business located in one of the most important shoe districts in Venice. Started in 1978, they specialized in producing hand-made sneakers for top designers, including Philippe Model, Zadig&Voltaire, Maison Margiela, Marni, & Ghoud. Archivio,22 was launched in 2015 as their own sneaker brand. This pair of laminated, holographic gold leather sneakers features a deep ruby glitter mustache, contrasting deep navy smooth leather vamp and stitched, padded tongue. Somehow, this shoe is much less gaudy than one might imagine. Archivio,22 has mastered the art of subtle embellishment through distressing. These kicks have a gorgeous aesthetic that would complement dressy, hip, casual style. Say, with velvet or leather skinny pants and a satin smoking jacket worn over a statement bra. The holographic gold is tastefully distressed, as are the white rubber soles. The black shoelaces have just a hint of sparkle. I'm guessing Calzaturificio Bettio must have also made sneakers for Golden Goose at some point, based on the whole vibe of this pair, the slight hidden wedge, and the fit and feel on the foot. Marked size EU41, they should fit women's size 9.5-10. They look as though they'd be narrow, but my medium width feet feel quite comfortable. There's a small scratch on the top left toe, otherwise new & unworn with box.
