Arielle de Pinto is known for their innovative approach to jewelry design, using crochet as a technique for working with precious metals. So, a design collaboration between them and German shoe designers LVMM was bound to be interesting and completely different than pretty much anything else out there. This pair was from 2012, the first year of collaboration, but they continued riffing off the crocheted flatform theme until 2015, producing several interesting variations.
This pair of crocheted polyester and high density foam rubber sandals might just be the most oddball and avant-garde pair of shoes I've ever bought. Never quite figured out what to wear them with, so they've never been worn.
As it turns out, they look pretty cool with dystopian desert nomad cubist lagenlook style, with a pair of ankle socks - yes, I know, socks & sandals are usually a no-no, but in this case, exceptions can be made! Hopefully, there's someone out there with an adventurous sense of style who can do these unique and quirky shoes justice.
They're marked size EU40, but I believe they will work for up to a size 10 foot, possibly 10.5. The crocheted polyester uppers have a bit of give, so wider feet shouldn't be a problem. Footbed length is 10.5".
The box they came in is too small for the shoes, and it's not in great shape. As a result, there's a bit of dust clinging to the foam rubber flatform, but no actual wear to the shoes themselves.
