This is a simply stunning (and quite rarely found) Art Deco Rainbow (or sometimes called 'Iris') teardrop glass pendant and gold-filled (GF) chain necklace. Dating from circa 1930s, this is a great statement piece. Rainbow iridescent glass was quite popular in the 1930s, and this example is one of the best I've seen in pendant form. The pendant itself is approx. 1.7 inches in size, and is foil-backed to really help that rainbow glass shine in all its glory. Check out the photo of the pendant in the light - just gorgeous. The foil-back on the reverse of the pendant is showing some signs of wear (as to be expected from a much-loved piece of jewelry around 90 years old! ). The overall condition however is very good. The chain itself is approx. 16 inches in length, and is gold-filled (and stamped 'GF'). The clasp is a spring-back clasp. It is unsigned.
