Art Deco silver toned powder compact by R.M.Co, antique dance purse cosmetic

...pocket mirror A delightful silver toned metal vanity compact or dance purse, the lid set with a guilloche enamel pink rose on white, with a black enamel bar background. The edges are engine engraved with flowers (daisies) and the back is engine engraved in a simple yet elegant line pattern. Made by R.M Co, in the USA. Dates ca 1920s The inside of the compact has a mirror in the lid, space for loose powder (the top rotates to cover, sift or open the powder space, and a small tablet space for a solid perfume, or lip tint. Condition: with wear to the silver toned metal finish on the outside and the edges look like they may have been gilded at some point as they appear a slight more yellow than the middle. The inside mirror with age-related tarnish. The metal around the powder space with some tarnishing - it looks like a chromed metal. It closes well with a small clip on top, the receiving end has another space for a metal or fabric ribbon bracelet handle or chatelaine chain to be attached. Size: ca 3 x 1 3/4 inches (7.5 x 4.5 cm)
