Art deco masterpiece: Antique signed sterling, marcasite and onyx ring, size 5

Perfection - in the box in which it was originally purchased, some 100 years ago! The design of this ring, from the slightly faceted onyx, to the sparkling marcasite, to the elegantly etched sterling sides, leaves no room for debate. Inside the band (where I was unable to capture a good photo), the ring is marked Sterling and →U←, which I have recently learned was a trademark of the American jewelry maker Uncas. The ring is in perfect shape and the box, from Appel & Weber jewelers in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, is in good shape, though it has yellowed over the course of its long life.
