Emerald green glass. This footed emerald green glass bowl has a nice scalloped edge. Originally intended for use in floral arrangements but has numerous other everyday uses. E.O. Brody Co. was founded in 1958 in Cleveland, Ohio. Ernest Oscar Brody's innovative idea was to sell utility glass floral containers exclusively to florists who would market them through wholesale florists. In 1971, the E.O. Brody Company was taken over by Lancaster Colony Corp of Columbus, Ohio. Lancaster continued to market glass utility floral containers and a small number of upscale vases exclusively to wholesale florists for redistribution to retail florists. Eventually the company was purchased and merged with Anchor Hocking. This bowl is in vintage condition. There are small chips across the top edge, tough spots on the inside rim, manufacturing imperfections on the bowl exterior consisting of "glass strand fibers" which extend from the pedestal towards the bowl, an exterior bubble and some scratches on the bottom. 3" total height Diameter is 6.75" edge to edge. The pedestal base is 1" high and approx. 3.5" in diameter.
