Apply a very thin layer to cleansed (but still damp) skin, let dry completely & then apply your retinol. I tried retinol 3 times before I finally watched Dr. Dray's Youtube video on how to use it properly. She recommends adding a light hydrating layer before applying, as well as using Vaseline as a blocker around the eyes & in skin folds. If retinol is exposed to any dampness, it is heavily intensified & will do damage. I'm on prescription retinol (for antiaging) & I still do this. You can also switch to a hydrating toner or essence, but lotions like this work best, IMO. *Brand new MINI, no box.
