The Indiana Glass Company was established in 1907 in Dunkirk Indiana an ran until 2002 when the Anchor Hawking Co. acquired it. Known for their residential and commerical glasswares the Indiana glass co. used pressed glass molds to create particular lines. This piece is no exception and this particular style of candy dish has become very collectible over the past few years.
Dating the particular colour- Pastel Blue this pieced was made between1980-90. Pastel blue has also been called ice blue by collectors The mold for this candy dish has been in use since the 60s mid-century and different colours were introduced over the decades. The princess pattern includes flat diamonds interspersed with fluting and the dish itself is completed with an octagonal finial lid This icy bowl has a retro 50's feel due to the colour. The classic understated surface patterning reflects light beautifully It is a perfect size candy dish it lends itself to many uses and just as an accent itself.
Note molded glass may have bubbles even wrinkles within the glass this is a natural part of the formation of the glass and doesn't effect its stability
