Bespoke 60s Embroidered Cotillion/Tea Dress

Gorgeous, figure hugging (known today as Bodycon)😉 cocktail or after hours dress. Based on a Ben Barrack design from his 7th Avenue NYC shop this dress was custom made for my aunt in the early 60s in Toronto, Ontario. Fitted bodice and skirt in a colour block of champagne and nude coloured silk-like taffeta with a sheer organza overlay. Side zipper. Bodice and skirt are joined with piping at waist. I’ve no way of confirming the fabric content but I did a burn test on both layers and they both burn to an ash which would indicate a natural fibre. Embroidered tone on tone florals with 3D central blooms. This piece is a must for the true vintage lover. Pit to pit 16” Waist 12” Hips 17.5” Shoulder to hemline 39” There’s approx 2” of extra hem length and 2” of extra shoulder strap available. Not likely that the dress could be made larger. Really great vintage condition. No rips, holes or odour. Well cared for and kept. Listing as a Small. Would likely fit a 2-4 see measurements.
