Birks Cake Knife Sterling Silver

This is a cake knife made for Birks in Sheffield, England. It has a faux pearl covered handle and I was told that the butt of the knife is made of sterling. However it isn't marked and the rest of the knife is stainless steel. The blade is 5 3/4" long and 2" at its widest while the whole knife is 10 1/4" long.
