thanks_its_new Hi - I always thought they looked realistic, but they are so soft and fluffy, I'm guessing they are faux feathers! I've had a fluff or two come off, but no missing spots or gaps. I'll add a couple more pics of the feather portion for you! All the photos are the actual shoes (taken by me) ☺️
