EU 39 is equal to a US 8.5. I measured the sole (the part that touches the ground, not the one your foot touches) and it was 8.5 inches. Heel is 3.75 inches high. Platform at the toes is 1 inch high. See pictures for details. One heel shows signs of wear in the design.
