Brass Memorial Candle Holder -November 1939

A brass memorial candle holder that was made to commemorate the death of one William Ward on November 8th, 1939 near the start of WW2. The candle holder is removable and has a long spring, presumably to allow a very long candle to be used for a good while. There is a good deal of wear and the base reads "In Memoriam to William Ernest Ward, Died Nov 8th 1939." Its base is 4 5/8" wide and it is about 17" tall.
