CANDLEWICK CORNFLOWER CANDLE STICK

This vintage single light ‘Candlewick’ candle stick from Imperial Glass has the added appeal of the iconic Canadian ‘Cornflower’ cutting on it. ‘Candlewick’ glass was named after a type of colonial needlework that used a heavy cotton thread – like that used for making candles – to embroider small knots in decorative designs. It was one of the most popular glass patterns with ‘Cornflower’customers, and was used by the W. J. Hughes Company for several decades. This single light candlestick is a shape that is difficult to find and is particularly collectable as a result. It is approximately 6 inches tall, measures 5 ¼ inches across the base, and is in excellent condition - without cracks, chips, scratches or any other damage or defect. Handsome!
