Authentic Military issues Jacket (1991) This is one of the most sought after models from the Canadian Army. Originally created in the late 60's, the cold weather tanker jacket was created as part of a tanker suit, which replaced the jumpers that they used to wear. This jacket has seen several iterations since its original conception, with very little changes in terms of construction. The model I have here was issued in 1991 and it is rated to protect the wearer in weather as cold as -25 Fahrenheit (-31C). There are a number of details that make this jacket stand out. First and most obvious is the slanted zipper and the front pocket, both of which are zipped by sturdy YKK zips. There are two inner pockets (one at each side), the outline of which are clear in the front, which give it a disticnt look. It has a handle on the back for easy carrying (or perhaps for people to be grabbed out of the tanks, lak), and buttons on the bottom hem to attatch the jacket to the complementary pants. The hoodie has the inner wire, so you can change the shape for added protection. Made out of one of the most durable materials 50% Cotton / 50% Nylon Shell, witt Wool Interlining and Nylon Lining.
