CRUDA FLATS

THE DESIGNER Pamela Hernández, Costa Rican artist and designer, has shown her artistic work both nationally and internationally, individually and collectively. In 2007 she creates a brand of furniture made out of computer waste. At the moment she works as a designer for CRUDA, a shoe brand that supports and propels artisan processes and responsible production practices, employing a long chain of collaborators. CRUDA shoes are handmade, mostly of leather and wood, with the intention that each one has something special and unique. CRUDA is known for Sustainability We recover traditional manufacturing techniques handmade footwear, which in turn are transmitted to new generations. Our designs are based on the Upcycling concept. Almost 100% of the materials we use for the manufacture and packaging of footwear is reused raw material: carefully selected and curated second hand leather garments, wood from demolished old houses and discarded furniture. All this is recovered and transformed to give life to a unique and unrepeatable object aiming for its final finish to reveal the manual craftsmanship of our collaborators. *****These Cruda Flats are so comfy & can be dressed up or down.
