Carved Shell Wood Tray or Wall Accent

Carved wood shell shaped tray or wall accent, has marks on bottom as previously used. Super original looking and I can't figure out if it belongs on a wall or holding something! Measures about 14.5 inches by 10 inches. Cat friendly, nonsmoking home.
