Cassidian 22K Gold Commemorative Plate Duke of Edinburgh and Princess Elizabeth

Stately and classic vintage decorative plate, commemorating the October 1951 visit Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip to Canada. Interestingly, this visit took place just a few short months prior to Queen Elizabeth’s ascension to the throne upon the death of her father (King George VI) in February 1952 - so Her Royal Highness was then referred to as “Princess Elizabeth”, as indicated on this plate. This would be an incredible addition to a royal family memorabilia collection! This plate is made by Cassidian and is in good condition for its age. There are no chips, cracks, stains, or wearing of the 22k gold gilt rim. However, the plate does have crazing throughout the glaze. The plate is approximately 25 cm (10 inches) in diameter.
