This White Sox cap holds more history than meets the eye.
For starters, the first time Chicago rocked black — like they do today — was back in 1949, before which the storied ball club spent 50 years wearing navy ones of all types since their inception in 1901.
It wasn't until 1964 when the Chi Sox went back to blue, experimenting with not only navy but royal blue, too.
In 1987 the Southsiders traded their iconic "Sox" logo for a clean, cursive "C," plus they kept the red that first appeared in '71 and paired it with navy blue. The result not only paid an homage to the blue of the team's past but also to their first ever usage of a logo — a simple "C" that first adorned the White Sox's caps in 1910.
What's more, it was this very cap design that Michael Jordan wore in 1991 during his famous rookie season in the majors.
