Chinese Shantou reed straw overlay tea caddy with goldfish motif from carved

...shells A sweet Chinese tea caddy, made of thin wood, with an arranged reed or straw overlay. The outside is fully covered in woven beige and red / brown straw, and the front further decorated with hand painted green seaweed and 2 carved and coloured gold fish. The inside of the box is lined in a metal foil for freshness and the lid fits snugly on top. The box has a paper label underneath ¨Made in Shantou China Art. No. FA 212-1¨. This item dates ca 1960s - 1980s. Overall in good condition with only a small bit of brown straw missing at the bottom front, and a little straw edge lifting at the left bottom side.
