Classic Pineapple Pattern Doilies Set of 2 Hand Crocheted White Heirloom Linens - Mid Century Cottage Core - HB These are two beautifully hand crocheted doilies in the classic pineapple pattern. They are made of white cotton thread with a very delicate appearance. The larger round doily is 19.5 inches in diameter with 16 pineapples. The smaller doily is 12 inches long and 8.5 inches wide with four pineapple shapes. Both are in excellent condition and are heirlooms passed down in one family. Wouldn't they be lovely in a shabby chic, boho, country, or farmhouse setting? The classic pineapple crochet motif we are all accustomed to became popular in the 1920s and 1930s. A fascination with Hawaii made pineapples popular again in the 50s and 60s—think of the video production of Roger’s and Hammerstein’s South Pacific, Gidget, and Elvis.
