kidneyclothes @nicertiger the width is 4.5 inches. The bag could stand on its own, more likely if you had items in it to weight it down I suppose but the base is substantial.

nicertiger Thank you for that. I am familiar with the model that is 12 inches wide at the base ,16 inches wide at the top, 9 inches high and 4.5 inches in depth. Is that the same as yours? Does it have an external pocket at the back?
