Covered Butter Dish, Hand Painted Cheese Keeper by Franz Anton Mehlem 1885-1920

Antique hand painted cheese or butter keeper. Pink and yellow florals on green and yellow-green body. Heavy crazing with discoloration and chips to glaze and pottery. Condition of this piece, as expected for a late 1800's antique. Lovely antique gift for Royal Bonn or fancy cheese keeper collector! Perfect complement to a farmhouse or cottage chic decor! Backstamp: "BONN Germany" tower backstamp used 1885 - 1920 "Franz Ant Mehlem - Bonn Ahrein" impressed round mark - was used 1870 to 1920 (when the Mehlem factory was sold to Villeroy & Boch) Dome: 6" (L) x 5" (W) Dome height: 3.5" to 2.25" Bottom plate, outside dimensions: 6" (W) x 7.5" (L) Bottom plate, flat inner dimensions: 4.75" x 6" Vintage Condition: Crazing with dark discoloration on the inside & outside of the lid. Chips on the lid top, back and handle. Condition of this piece, as expected for a late 1800's antique.
